Bin collections in Greenwich will run on an altered timetable during this year’s holiday period.
Greenwich residents can use a calendar on the council’s website to check the revised collection dates.
Collections from December 26 to December 29 will be two days later, as well as from January 2 to January 6.
Collections due on December 30 will take place on January 3. Normal collections will return on Monday, January 9, but residents are asked to bear with the council on any delays.
People looking to dispose of their real Christmas trees can leave them beside their bin from January 9 as part of the green bin collection service.
Those living in flats can leave their real trees beside communal bins. Residents are advised to remove all decorations, and can also dispose of their trees at the recycling centre in Nathan Way.
Councillor Averil Lekau, cabinet member for environment for Greenwich Council, said: “It’s important for residents to know which bin their general and recycling waste should go in as we head towards a zero-waste borough.
"We’ll be sharing reminders on how to recycle waste correctly on our social media channels over the festive period and we have communicated these changes on our website and in Greenwich Info.
“Don’t forget, anyone with a real Christmas tree can place their tree outside beside their bin or communal bins from January 9 and it will be collected as part of our green bin collections.
"We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.”
Bin collection dates over the Christmas and New Year period can be checked on the council website and in the latest issue of Greenwich Info, the fortnightly publication from the council.
