London bus drivers are set to stage a fresh wave of strikes amid disputes over pay. 

Unite union members employed by Abellio across the south and west London will strike for 11 days in late December and through January. 

Ahead of the new strikes, bus drivers have already taken 10 days of strike action. 

Initially, the dispute involved 950 drivers but Unite has shared that its membership has since doubled. 

Speaking of the strikes, Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Abellio is content to hoard mountains of cash but has imposed a completely unacceptable pay offer on its drivers.

“It is disgraceful behaviour and our members are rightly furious. Unite always fights to defend and improve members’ jobs, pay and conditions and Abellio’s south and west London workforce have their union’s unflinching support.”

Following the announcement that Unite the Union plan to intensify Abellio bus driver strike action in London over Christmas and the New Year, Jon Eardley, Managing Director of Abellio London said: “We urge Unite to recognise Abellio's 12% pay deal and encourage their members to resume normal services."

Adding: "We are deeply disappointed that despite this offer Unite plan to continue strike action over Christmas and into the New Year, bringing further disruption to hundreds of thousands of Londoners”

When are the London bus strikes? 

The new set of strikes will take place at the end of December on the, 24, 27 and 31. 

Whilst there will be some more days of action during January, taking place on the 4,5,10,12,16,19,25 and 26. 

Unite said more strikes will be scheduled if the dispute is not resolved.

What routes are affected during the London bus strikes? 

Transport for London (TfL) has shared the routes that will be affected by strikes, adding that other running services will be busier than normal. 

The routes that are affected include day routes, 24-hour routes, night routes and a school route.
