You don’t need to travel to central London to visit a Christmas market.
South east London has a great selection of Christmas markets and craft fairs to offer.
Here’s everything you need to know about them.
Lewisham Market Winter Festival, every Saturday until December 17 between 10am-3pm
Every Saturday Lewisham Market will be hosting a range of festive activities and getting in to the festive spirit.
Activities will vary from week to week, from stalls and live music to bauble decorating and a chance to see Santa in his Grotto.
Hither Green Christmas Fair, December 3, 2022, between 12-5pm
This weekend the FUSS Christmas Fair is set to return for the first time since Covid.
The whole entire street of Staplehurst Road will be lined with stalls featuring local artists and traders selling gifts and crafts.
There will also be a choir singing Christmas carols with a mulled wine stall if you fancy a tipple.
And for the children there will be face painting and a grotto with the chance to visit Father Christmas himself.
Gingham Goose Christmas Craft Market, December 3, 2022, between 10am-3pm
Located in The Warren, Hayes, the market will host 40 different craft stalls selling an array of crafts to help you get some Christmas shopping done.
Festive food and drink will also be available in the conservatory if you get peckish.
The event is free to enter and will be raising funds for Cancer Research UK.
Christmas Market at the Mansion at Beckenham Place Park, December 3, 2022, between 10am and 7pm
Taking place in Beckenham Place Mansion this event will host 30 different indoor stalls selling artisan crafts and Christmas gifts from woodcarvings to candles.
The market will be accompanied by carols from a choir and music played by musicians.
The Big Christmas Craft Market at Ninth Life, Catford December 3-December 4 2022 between 12-6pm
Back for another year Ninth Life in Rushy Green will feature Catford-based traders selling a mix of crafts and Christmas gifts.
Accompanied by singing and storytelling on Saturday and face painting on Sunday for the children.
Sundridge Park Village Christmas Event, December 9, 2022, between 5-9pm
Located near Sundridge Park Station in Bromley, this event will showcase a mix of local small businesses that will be offering late night shopping to visitors.
The event will also have food and drink on offer and a special visit from Father Christmas too.
Brockley Christmas Market, December 10, 2022, between 12-6pm
Located right next to Brockley Station, Coulgate Street will be lined with 70 different stalls selling a mix of crafts, gifts, food and mulled wine.
The event will also feature live festive music, Christmas carols and the appearance of a Christmas fairy for the children.
Thamesmead Christmas Market, December 10, 2022, between 10am-6pm
Located in Thamesmead shopping centre, this market will feature an array of stalls selling everything from clothes and jewellery to sweets and food.
The market will feature live singers, a mystery Christmas trail and free activities like Christmas card making.
There will also be character visits from Mascot Moments at 3pm for the children.
