Nothing says Christmas like an evening walking through a festive light trail and south east London has some incredible options on offer.
Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to a festive light show and luckily despite the cost-of-living crisis there are some fantastic shows that you can find in the South East London area.
Enchanted Eltham, Eltham Palace

Set in the grounds of a historic castle dating back to medieval times, this is the perfect place to spend an evening ambling through a colourful display of light shows through as. mix of landscaped gardens and woodland paths.
At the end of the trail you can finish by checking out number of food stalls selling hot drinks, mulled wine, food and gifts as well as a rides for the children.

Back for a second year running, this neon immersive display is a great interactive experience that takes you on a trail around the park.
The light trail is a mix of traditional Christmas figures, whimsical displays, and brightly coloured installations.
There really is something for everybody at Lightopia with places to stop off and enjoy some food and drink.
Borough Market, Southwark

If you love a beautiful Christmas decorations in a Dickensian setting then you need to take a trip to Borough Market.
For the festive season this Victorian market will be decorated with lights and a traditional Christmas tree alongside their calendar of shopping and culinary Christmas events.
Entry to the market is free and there will be lots of fun events happening including their drop in Cocktail Club on December 7 and their popular returning event An Evening of Cheese on December 15.
From December 1, there will be a weekly line-up of choirs and live music as well as a host of traders and food stalls for anyone looking to do some Christmas shopping.
Winter Lights, Canary Wharf

This free event begins in January and is a great way to keep the festive spirit going for a little longer into the New Year.
From January 18, Canary Wharf will feature 20 different light installations dotted around the premises.
There will be a mix of returning installations from previous years as well as a line-up of brand-new installations to enjoy.
Plus, you can also enjoy an evening of ice skating at their famous ice skating rink which is on up until February 25, 2023.
