“If there is anything that gets me in the festive mood, it is ice skating, and this rink really is something special,” says reporter Amy Clarke.
Glide at Battersea Power Station is quite an oddly shaped rink with a giant Christmas tree in the centre.
It is quite a decent size and there is something quite bewitching about gliding around under the glow of the giant power station.
I would recommend attending at night-time to fully take advantage of the atmosphere as the combination of the lights, music and the city skyline make for a stunning experience.
It really does make you feel like you’ve been transported into a beautiful slightly cheesy Christmas rom-com.

Not to mention the atmospheric bar that comes complete those outdoor pods that you sometimes see along the Thames - but these are decorated as though it is your living room and even have tiny heaters to keep you warm in the winter weather.
It is lovely to enjoy a drink here after skating accompanied by some friends and live music.
There are fairground rides such as an old-fashioned ferries wheel and merry-go-round on the site for those both young or just young at heart.
It makes the perfect winter date night but is also brilliant for families as little ones can get to grips with a skating penguin if they are a little wobbly on their feet.
We saw a real mixture of abilities on the rink and the staff were happy to give you some tips on how to get going if you were new to skating… they were also happy to pick you up off the floor when you hit the deck.
There is also lots of space to watch if you don’t fancy giving it a go yourself.
Next to the rink is a pop-up Jo Malone store if you are looking for a special Christmas gift during your visit.
The area can be a little confusing to navigate as entry to the rink is on the other side of where you first appear so be sure to ask staff for directions if you need help.
Prices range from £8 for children (aged 12 and under), £12 for adults, £36 for a family but vary depending on peak times.
These prices also include your skates hire.
The rink is open seven days a week from November 11 through to Sunday, January 8, 2023.
