An elderly woman was rescued by from a house fire in Sidcup on Saturday (November 12).
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to Woodchurch Close at 8.46pm.
The woman was rescued from the first floor by firefighters and was then treated by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation at the scene.
London Fire Brigade tweeted that “thankfully the resident had a smoke alarm, which alerted a neighbour”.
Fire crews from Sidcup and surrounding fire stations brought the blaze under control by 9.34pm.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a maisonette fire on Woodchurch Close in Sidcup.
“An older woman was rescued from the first floor by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
“She weas suffering from smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
“The Brigade was called at 2046 and the fire weas under control by 2134.
“Fire crews from Sidcup and surrounding fire stations were at the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
