Police are looking to identify six men after a gun was pulled on a post office worker in Plumstead when he refused to sell them alcohol.

At around 5.20pm on September 10, the six men entered the post office in Plumstead High Street and asked for alcohol.

The group are believed be around the ages of 16 to 18.

When the shop keeper refused to sell them alcohol, one of the men pulled a handgun and threatened him.

This man is described as being white, slim, wearing a dark grey tracksuit, a black side bag, a black beanie and black and white trainers.

The group then left the post office and headed towards Plumstead Railway Station.

They are now wanted on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Officers are appealing for the public's help to identify six men following an attempted armed robbery in Plumstead.

On Saturday, 10 September, at around 17:20hrs, six men entered a post office in Plumstead High Street, SE18.

“They asked the shop keeper for alcohol, but he refused to sell it to them.

“As a result, one of the suspects produced a hand gun and threatened the shop keeper.

“The group then left the post office at 17:22hrs and headed toward Plumstead Railway Station.

“The main suspect, seen to be carrying the hand gun is described as a white male, wearing a dark grey tracksuit, a black side-bag, a black beanie and black and white trainers.

“He is of a slim build.

“The suspects are wanted for conspiracy to commit armed robbery and are aged around 16 to 18.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 5398/10Sep.
