A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital after suffering a medical episode in Sidcup.
The incident happened on the A20 Bypass just before 10.50am today (October 30).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were initially called to reports of a crash between a car and a cyclist.
It was later established that the cyclist suffered a medical episode rather than being involved in a crash.
The cyclist, who was a woman, was taken to hospital for treatment.
The coastbound carriageway was closed between Five Ways and Frognal Corner following the incident.
The road has since reopened.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 10:48hrs on Sunday, 30 October to reports of a collision involving a cyclist on the eastbound A20 Sidcup Bypass.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. “It was later established that the cyclist had suffered a medical episode rather than being involved in a collision.
“She was taken to hospital for treatment.
“The road has re-opened.
“The initial call to police suggested the cyclist had been involved in a collision with a car. “Officers established this wasn’t the case.”
