A person has died after an incident at Bickley train station.

Police were called to the train station just after 6pm yesterday to reports of a casualty on the train tracks.

Paramedics also attended and a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are currently working to identify the person who died and inform their family.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “British Transport Police were called to Bickley station at 6.03pm yesterday (18 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are currently working to identify the deceased and inform their family.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
