A new fan-focused HMV store which caters to pop culture collectors is opening today with a massive range of merchandise on offer.
HMV is returning to Bexleyheath for the first time since 2013 and the first 25 customers to visit the store received a “free pop culture swag bag.”
Inside the new store, there will be more than 16,000 different products available to buy, including 4,800 different vinyl albums, 3,700 different CDs and 4,350 films.
Customers can choose from more than 2,600 pop culture products across franchises such as Stranger Things, Pokemon, Star Wars, Marvel and DC.
Store manager Wez Setchfield said: “We’re excited to open our brand new Bexleyheath store today, offering even more of the best in entertainment across pop culture, music, film and TV.
“We know our customers have missed us since the previous store closed in 2013.”
Opening day deals include three for £55 on vinyl and customers can browse over 400 different t-shirt designs.
The new store has created nine new jobs in the Bexleyheath area.
HMV’s Managing Director Phil Halliday said: “The opening of our new Bexleyheath store demonstrates the incredible turnaround of the hmv business, and shows that fans of music, film and pop culture are keener than ever to get their hands on physical product.
“Nothing beats discovering new films and music by browsing in a store filled with expert, knowledgeable staff – it’s something that streaming can’t replace.”
Customers unable to visit the store or find the items they are looking for can make purchases through the “HMV delivers” service.
The store also plans to host new fan events which will see artists and bands perform.
Mr Halliday added: “Hmv has a long history of offering signings and performances from amazing artists and bands, and we’re looking forward to bringing some incredible fan events to Bexleyheath soon.”
The new store is located at Broadway Shopping Centre, Bexleyheath, DA6 7JJ and open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 7pm Thursday, 9am to 6pm Saturday and 9am to 4pm Sunday.
