A man has died after a crash with a bin lorry in Bromley this morning.
Police were called to the crash between a lorry and a pedestrian in The Grove in West Wickham at around 7.20am.
The pedestrian, a man believed to be aged in his 70s, died at the scene.
The lorry driver stopped at the scene.
A spokesperson for Bromley Council has confirmed that the lorry was not a Council vehicle or a contractor's vehicle.
They said their condolence and thoughts are particularly with family and friends at this time.
Police are yet to inform the man's next of kin.
Ambulance crews and London's Air Ambulance also attended the crash.
Road closures are in place and police enquiries continue.
Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1169/20Sep.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 07:20hrs on Tuesday, 20 September to reports of a collision involving a refuse lorry and a pedestrian in The Grove, West Wickham.
"Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.
"The pedestrian, a man believed to be aged in his 70s, died at the scene.
"His next of kin are yet to be informed.
"The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene.
"Road closures are in place and enquiries are ongoing.
"Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1169/20Sep."
