AS the nation mourns the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, we look back to the time she visited Bromley in 1986.
After coming to the throne in 1952, the Queen frequented our county and has always been met with a warm welcome.
The streets were flooded on March 26 with crowds who welcomed her as she walked through Bromley.
On that day, the Queen opened the Bromley Civic Centre and visited Crystal Palace during her Golden Jubilee celebrations.
They were met by flag-waving school children who cheered and sang choruses of the National Anthem as they arrived.
Her first visit was in October 1949 when she opened the new Bromley Parish church.
She last visited Bromley with the Duke of Edinburgh on May 15, 2012 in celebration of her Diamond Jubilee.
The Queen enjoyed a cup of tea with couples celebrating their diamond wedding anniversaries in 2012.
