New decking, grassed area, flower beds and a vegetable plot has been created from the disused back garden at Homes For Children project at Abbey Wood.
More than 20 workers used materials donated from various local businesses to build the new pay area during national Make A Difference Day on October 31.
Homes for Children, which is a part of Greenwich Social Services, is a new housing and care scheme for children aged five to 12 years old.
Workers from Volunteers Greenwich and Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Volunteering project took up the challenge to create the garden oasis designed by the Lewisham Environmental Task Force.
