The body of a man has been found in the River Thames by Chichester Wharf in Erith.
Police were called to reports of a body in the water just before 5pm yesterday (August 28).
The body of a man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was recovered.
Police are working to confirm his identity and inform next of kin.
The death is currently being treated as unexpected.
Enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 4.53pm on Sunday, 28 August, to reports of a body in the water at Chichester Wharf, Erith.
“The body of a man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was recovered.
“Police are working to confirm his identity and inform next of kin.
“The death is currently being treated as unexpected. Enquiries continue.”
