Firefighters are still at the scene of a vegetation fire in Dartford.
One fire engine remains at the scene of the fire in Birchwood Road.
Eight fire engines were called to the blaze just before 3.25pm yesterday (August 8).
This later increased to 10 fire engines as the blaze had spread to a number of industrial units.
Crews are now searching the affected land for any remaining hotspots.
The fire service is no longer warning people in the area to keep their windows and doors closed.
Firefighters used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene of a fire involving trees and vegetation on Birchwood Road in Dartford.
“Eight fire engines have been sent to the scene, and firefighters are working to extinguish the flames.
“Crews are currently advising anyone who lives or works nearby to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution due to smoke coming from the incident.”
The latest Kent Fire and Rescue update, issued at 9.15am today, said: “One fire engine remains at the scene of a fire in Birchwood Road, Dartford, where crews are maintaining a watching brief to ensure there are no further hot spots.”
