A burst water pipe has caused flooding across streets in Dartford.
Police were called to close roads near to Priory Road at around 8.42pm yesterday when the flood began.
A spokesperson for Thames Water says the flooding is due to a burst pipe.
The company has apologised to residents who had no water or lower pressure than normal last night.
A spokesperson for Thames Water added: “Engineers have since shut in the burst and customers should be back in supply.”
James R Cobley, a nearby resident, told the News Shopper that he had to take a longer walking route to get to Priory Road North as Victoria Road was “too flooded” to walk across.
He said: “Personally, in order to get from the train station to Priory Road North, we had to walk around Prospect Place, along Anne of Cleves Road, over the railway footbridge, and down Francis Road - as Victoria Road was also too flooded to walk across."
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 8.42pm on Sunday 7 August 2022 to assist with a road closure near Priory Road, Dartford, following reports of localised flooding.”
A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to customers in the Dartford area who had no water or lower pressure than normal last night due to a burst pipe.
“Our engineers have shut in the burst and customers should be back in supply.”
