Parched parts of England are facing a hosepipe ban amid very dry conditions and ahead of another predicted heatwave.
Although many regions across the UK are willing to snitch on their neighbours, recent data shows Londoners would be the least likely to grass.
Southern Water announced the move from Friday for customers in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight, while the measure will follow in exactly a week for South East Water customers in Kent and Sussex.
Thames Water has warned residents across London that reservoir supplies are running low, although a ban is not yet in place across the boroughs.
The Met Office has warned there is “very little meaningful rain” on the horizon for parched areas of England as temperatures are set to climb into the 30s next week.
Water companies are urging people to spy on their neighbours over the hose pipe ban, to ensure that no garden is watered, and no law is broken.
Those who are willing to break the rules could be faced with a £1,000 fine.
