An animal sanctuary has pleaded for help from horse owners after their stables was set alight in the Dartford fire.
Spirits Rest Dartford Horse and Animal Sanctuary appealed for horse boxes from people so that their horses could be relocated after the sanctuary got caught in the fire.
The fire broke out in Durrell Dene on Joyce Green, near the sanctuary, and spread rapidly.
The Kent Fire and Rescue Service have been trying to hold the fire back from the stables.
Becky McLeary, the admin of the sanctuary’s Facebook page, said: “Thank you all so much for your kind offers for help.
“At present the fire department have the fire contained and we have plans in place, so we don’t need any more horse boxes or help for now.
“We will update the page if anything changes.”
18 fire engines are currently at the scene and firefighters are still tackling the huge field fire.
This is one of two fires currently alight in Dartford – the other being a large grass fire on Dartford Heath, alongside the A2 carriageway
The situation is ongoing, but for now the animals have been taken to safety.
