A person has been arrested after cannabis was found inside a stolen car in Lewisham.
Officers followed a red Audi A3 that was driving along Brockley Road north bound yesterday (June 28).
A car was soon located on Reynard Close where a driver was stood next to the car and smoking cannabis.
A suspect was detained for a S23 drug search, and in a bin three metres away, a large amount of cannabis and cash was found hidden.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
Officers found house keys and keys to another car hidden in gravel where the driver was stood.
Police soon re-attended the scene and noticed a key to an Audi in the same location, and police found more cannabis inside the vehicle.
The suspect was then further arrested on suspicion of Taking and Driving Away, no insurance and not in accordance.
Lewisham MPS said: “Officers have been alerted to a red Audi A3 that was driving along Brockley Road north bound.
“This was followed but made off from an unmarked unit. 5 minutes later a vehicle was located on Reynard Close SE4, still warm and driver stood next to the car smoking a joint.
“Detained for a S23 drug search and in a bin 3 metres away a large amount of cannabis and cash had been found hidden.
“Dog unit has located house keys and keys to another car concealed in gravel where driver was stood.
“Arrested for possession with intent to supply.
“Later officers have re-attended and located key to AUDI in the same location, S23 search carried out and more cannabis located in the vehicle.
“Suspect further arrested for TDA, No insurance and not in accordance.”
