Bromley Civic Society is hosting guided tours around Bromley town centre to teach the community about the heritage of the area.
All tours start and finish at an exhibition in The Glades shopping centre, Bromley, on the upper Mall near Boots and Zara. The walks will take place on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday July 17.

Peter Martin, Vice Chair of Bromley Civic Society said: “We think it’s important that people know something about the place where they live, work and shop.
“On the walks we like to entertain and tell people the story about how the town grew from a Kentish market town to a flourishing suburb, especially its Victorian heyday in the 19th century.
“We dress up in Victorian gear which all adds to the fun!”
The first walk, named the Family Heritage trail, is at 10:30am on July 2 and 11.30 am on June 17.
This will be a short walk around the High Street which is ideal for families with children.
The tour will see the group look for things of heritage interest usually high up on buildings, such as stone creatures in the architecture.
The second walk at 12.30pm on July 2 is Victorian Bromley.
This tour will provide walkers with a flavour of Bromley’s Victorian heyday when many buildings in the Arts and Crafts style were built and where writer Herbert George Wells spent the first 13 years of his life.
The third walk on July 2 is at 3:30pm and focuses on the heritage of Bromley’s Parks Gardens.
Further in the future on July 17, the tour will be visiting Bromley Palace and Park at 1.30pm, giving walkers a chance to peek inside the 18th century Bromley Palace.
People will be able to discover the ice-house, cascades and Victorian folly behind the park.
A tour focusing on the famous writer HG Wells will start at 30pm on July 17.
The route will stop at the places and buildings that he knew well and walkers will be able to get an understanding of what it was like to grow up in Victorian Bromley in the 1870s, just as he did.
Places on the tours are limited so Bromley Civic Centre advises you to book in advance on their website.
