A man has been arrested on suspicion of the theft of a motorbike in Dartford, as well on suspicion of the possession of illegal drugs.
After being chased by the police, the suspect, 20, jumped off the motorbike into the river in Mill Pond Road.
However, officers caught up with him and arrested the man soon after – on Wednesday, June 22.

Following a search, class A and B drugs were found and the man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply.
The man, of no fixed address, has been released under investigation.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A man was arrested on suspicion of the theft of a motor vehicle despite trying to evade capture by jumping into a river.
“Officers from the Proactive Targeting Team were alerted to a motorbike that had been stolen in the Dartford area at about 7pm on Wednesday 22 June 2022.
“After they caught up with the bike, the rider made off and jumped into the river in Mill Pond Road, but he was soon arrested.
“Following a search, a quantity of class A and B drugs were also found.
“A 20-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply.
“He has been released under investigation.”
