Summer weather is finally here and what better way to spend the warmer weekends than outside with a pint.
South east London is home to some of the best beer gardens for you to sit and have a drink or a bite to eat.
This week London has been hit with a scorching heatwave, with the temperature expected to exceed 30 degrees Celsius on Friday, June 17.

Red Barn – Barnehurst Road, Bexleyheath DA7 6HG

This family-friendly pub is popular with locals and for good reason! It’s a favourite on Trip Advisor for outdoor seating in sunny weather and the staff are known for making everyone feel at home.
“Excellent little boozer. Local to me and right by the train station. This pub is large and has an excellent garden and function room. Also, the food is great for a quick bar meal and always has a deal going on.”

Richard the First is a hidden gem out of the way of the busy streets of Greenwich. The garden at the back of the pub has a great, chilled-out atmosphere and shelter just in case of the unpredictable English weather.
“The roasts on Sunday are super gorgeous. The garden out back is the perfect place for drinks with friends - lovely atmosphere. Our server Nick was the best 10/10 highly recommend.”
The Dolphin – Sydenham Road, Sydenham SE26 5HB

The Dolphin is a friendly pub famous in the community for its craft beers, real ales and wood-fired pizzas. The grassy garden area is the perfect place to spend the heatwave.

This pub sits right in the middle of the Royal Arsenal Riverside Development. It’s known for its laid-back atmosphere and spacious beer garden with plenty of spots for sun and shade.
“Great place to relax and chill with friends. Large outside terrace with parasols for shade. Friendly and efficient staff. Food very good. Manager very friendly, approachable and hands on. Overall a delight.”
