A school in Sidcup has been rated as “excellent” after a three-day inspection by Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
West Lodge School, located in Station Road, received the rating after inspections between March 15 and 18.
ISI does not make an overall judgement on a school but instead gives a rating on individual factors.
The inspection focuses on factors such as the achievements of the pupils, including their academic and personal development.
The body then uses a four-grade system to rate each factor.
These are excellent, good, sound, and unsatisfactory.
The report found that the quality of the pupils’ academic and personal development at West Lodge is excellent.
West Lodge Headmaster, Robert Francis said: “I am delighted with the inspection results which mirror a school which is constantly innovating yet steeped in tradition and heritage.
“I’m extremely proud of everyone at West Lodge, from the teaching team to the support staff and in particular the pupils who take on the challenge of learning in an enjoyable and engaging way”.
A West Lodge Year five, pupil Oliver Perrior said: “I love coming to West Lodge.
“The lessons are fun and I love the variety – from playing sports to music and art.
“I even like Maths.
“My favourite thing is the new, improved lunch menu and I’m looking forward to the trip to France in a few weeks.
“I’m pleased for the teachers that the inspection went so well”.
