THE driver of a car has died after crashing into a bollard in West Wickham.
The crash happened in Corkscrew Hill yesterday (June 10) at around 2.30pm.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, a man in his 80s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers say no other vehicles were involved.
Police enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at approximately 2.30pm on Friday, 10 June to reports of a road traffic collision in Corkscrew Hill, West Wickham.
“A car was reported to have collided with a bollard – no other vehicles were involved.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended but despite the best efforts of the emergency services the driver of the car, a man believed aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
