THE consultation period to decide on the future of Orpington town centre has been extended.
Locals have an extra month to submit their views on a draft planning policy.
The policy will be used to guide the development of Orpington town centre.
It is designed to protect and enhance the vibrancy and character of the town centre.
The consultation period which opened on March 9 has now been extended until July 1.
Yvonne Bear, executive councillor for renewal, recreation and housing said:
“I know that many residents care deeply about this important town centre.
“To make sure that your views are reflected in our planning policies for Orpington, I strongly encourage everyone to get involved in this consultation, which will help shape the town centre for the next generation.
“Thank you to everyone who has already responded to the consultation.
“If you have not yet responded, you now have some more time to provide your input and we look forward to hearing from you.”
