A man has been arrested after a sword was recovered in Abbey Wood.
A man was seen with a sword in Eynsham Drive at 9.20pm on Thursday night.
A 42-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
He remains in police custody.
No injuries have been reported.
Police enquiries into the circumstances continue.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at approximately 9.30pm on Thursday, 26 May to reports of a man seen in possession of a sword in Eynsham Drive, SE2.
“Officers attended and a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
“He remains in custody.
“The sword was recovered by officers.
“No reports of any injuries.
“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
