A woman has reported being raped at a church in Plumstead.
A distressed woman approached a member of the public, who then rang police with concerns just before 3am on Sunday.
The woman told police she had been raped.
A crime scene was put in place at St Nicholas Church in St Nicholas Road but this has now been removed.
No arrests have been made.
Police enquires are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Met Police said : “Police were called at 2.56am on Sunday, 22 May by a concerned member of the public who said he had been approached by a woman who was in distress.
“Officers responded. The woman alleged that she had been raped.
“A crime scene is in place at St Nicholas Church in St Nicholas Road, Plumstead.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.”
