A person has died after being hit by a train at Norwood Junction station.
Emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks shortly before 11am this morning.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are working to identify and establish the circumstances behind their death.
National Rail announced on Twitter that disruption to services is expected to last until 2pm.
It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between East Croydon and New Cross Gate. All lines are blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Norwood Junction station at 10.56am this morning (Thursday 19 May) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently working to identify the deceased and establish the full circumstances behind their death.”
