A new library is being introduced at the Nest in Thamesmead as works are underway for the build.
The library will be located in Cygnet Square on the ground floor of the building with an outdoor terrace, a meeting room, computers, and study spaces.
The offices and community spaces that make up the rest of the inside space in the Nest are managed by Peabody.
London Borough of Bexley’s cabinet member for places, Councillor Peter Craske said: “It’s good to see the inside of the Nest starting to take shape.
“This new library and the new one in Sidcup, will be thriving community hubs with a wealth of activities in them for local people.”
The building will also host shops, restaurants, cafes, community amenities, and a gallery space.
The construction of the building was completed in 2021.
The internal works are currently underway and expected to be completed by late spring 2022.
The furniture installation will then take place with the library expected to open in early summer 2022.
