A man has been sent to prison after stealing three bottles of whisky from Asda in Bexleyheath Broadway.
Ryan Brook, of Cumbrian Avenue in Bexleyheath, admitted to stealing the three bottles worth £48 on February 26, 2022.
The 32-year-old was jailed for 12 weeks and also fined £128 during a hearing at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on February 28, 2022.
The defendant was ordered to pay this surcharge to fund victim services by July 29, 2022.
He was not ordered to pay costs for the offence “due to lack of means”.
Brook was sent to prison because he is “a prolific shoplifter who offends on licence".
It was taken into account that this was a low level and unsophisticated shop lift, according to the courts.
