On BBC TWO a new drama created by acclaimed writer Jack Throne follows the love story of two disability civil-rights activists who met at a gig and quickly fall in love.
From then the pair become the driving force behind an unprecedented campaign of direct action that leads to the passing of the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act.
The show is inspired by the real story of Barbara Lisicki and Alan Holdsworth who hope their story is just one of many that will be told to encourage more shows with disabled actors leading the way.
Then Barbara Met Alan has been written by Jack Throne who has been at the helm of many acclaimed shows and films, including 'Shameless', 'Skins', 'His Dark Materials' and the pandemic inspired film 'Help'.
