A man and a woman have been treated by ambulance crews after escaping a flat fire in Lewisham.
Firefighters were called to the scene on Clarendon Rise shortly after 7.30pm on March 17.
The Brigade tackled the fire on the first floor of the building where “half of a four-roomed flat” was damaged by the blaze.
A woman was rescued from the flat and a man left the property before the arrival of the Brigade.
They were both treated on the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers gave fire survival guidance to residents in a flat on the second floor of the building.
The fire was under control by 8.54pm.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Lee Green, Greenwich, Deptford and Forest Hill fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a match which was dropped on to combustible materials.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters rescued a woman from a flat fire on Clarendon Rise in Hither Green.
“Half of a four-roomed flat on the first floor of the building was damaged by fire.
“One man left the property before the Brigade arrived.
“A man and a woman were assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
“The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers gave fire survival guidance to residents in a flat on the second floor of the building and crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from the flat on arrival.
“The Brigade was called at 7.33pm and the fire was under control by 8.54pn.
"Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Lee Green, Greenwich, Deptford and Forest Hill fire stations attended the scene.
“The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a match which was dropped on to combustible materials.”
