Rubbish caught fire near a chip shop in Crofton park on Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to Brockley Road and spent 45 minutes extinguishing flames.
The Brigade was called at 5.33am and the fire was under control by 6.16am.
No injuries were reported.
One fire engine from Lewisham Fire Station attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters were called to rubbish alight on Brockley Road in Crofton Park on Sunday morning.
“There were no reports of any injuries.
“The Brigade was called at 5.33am and the fire was under control by 6.16am.
“One fire engine from Lewisham Fire Station attended.”
