A new improvement works scheme to Erith High Street shops fronts has now been completed.
The aim of the works is to encourage customers to visit local businesses by providing new shop fronts and units.
As a part of the development, known as Curiosity Cabinet will be offered to small local businesses and creative enterprises to widen its audiences.
The newly built units will be used by the Bexley Business and Employment (BBE) services which will provide job search advice and guidance for residents who are unemployed or under-employed.
The services will provide one-to-one appointments, employability workshops, and job clubs.
Some of the new office space will be used by local charity, Re-Instate, which provides specialist employment support services for people experiencing mental ill-health.
Simon Hart, Chief Executive of Reinstate said: “As an Erith resident of thirty years I am delighted that Re-Instate is able to be a part of this wonderful project to regenerate the town centre.
“We look forward to working alongside our new neighbours, BBE to support the local community.
“Having the employment services in its new town centre location will improve access for jobseekers and employers and the increased space means that working with Re-Instate we can offer an even wider range of free services to local people.”
The improvements were funded by London Borough of Bexley and the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund.
