A spokesperson for Enish Restaurant says it regrets that this has happened as the chain “maintains a high standard throughout the business”.
Commenters have likened the food to a “wax strip”, while others have attempted to reassure the receiver of the takeaway by saying these are “cow hairs, not human hairs”.
One unsurprised viewer added: “What do you expect, Lewisham is Lewisham.”
The video has been liked 24,000 times and has received nearly 2,000 comments.
Enish Restaurant has said it has reviewed the processes with its supplier and also the kitchen to “ensure this doesn’t happen again”.
The Enish Restaurant customer starts the short TikTok video by telling viewers: “So I was hungry so I decided to order some Efo from Enish in Lewisham.
“And to my surprise look at what I encountered.”
As she turns the food and shows it from different angles, she adds: “I’m actually disgusted, shocked and I’m like ugh I can’t believe this like what the hell.”
The video is captioned: “#enishlewisham disgusted is not even the word. I called them and they showed no remorse #nasty #disgusting.”
A spokesperson for Enish Restaurant said: “Enish Restaurant maintains a high standard throughout the business and we regret this has happened.
“In light of this we have reviewed the processes with our supplier and also the kitchen to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
“We did respond to the customer as soon as we saw her messages via Instagram DM to apologise and was asked to contact Uber Eats for a full refund. “
