FLOWERS in Beckenham High Street mark the spot where a young mother-of-two was tragically killed on Friday.
Family and friends have left flowers and cards paying tribute to popular and attractive young mother who was killed in a collision with a VW Golf at the traffic lights outside the Box Bar in Beckenham High Street at around 8.53pm on Friday.
The woman was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time after.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and taken into police custody.
At the scene yesterday morning (January 27) people were stopping to read the cards and to remember the woman who is believed to be Cheryl McGoldrick from Beckenham.
A bystander and friend of Cheryl's told the News Shopper she had two sons, born nine months apart, both aged four.
It is believed Cheryl, aged 26, had been for a meal in the Box Bar and was crossing the road when she collided with a car.
Messages at scene read: "Cheryl, our hearts are broken. You will be in our hearts forever."
Another friend had written: "A tragedy to lose such a young life with so much promise."
Another wrote: "We cherish that you were part of our lives. We will love you always in our hearts. Sweet dreams angel."
