MOTORISTS are facing a seven-mile queue this morning after the closure of Dartford Crossing due to Storm Franklin.
This comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning across the south of England.
All traffic traveling southbound on the M25 is being diverted through the east bore tunnel.
There are currently delays of up to 60 minutes on approach in both south and northbound of the tunnel.
Traffic is also building up to seven miles clockwise between J31/A1306 (Lakeside/Purfleet) and J1A/A206 (Swanscombe/Erith).
Vehicles over 4.8m (15'9") will have to seek an alternative route through the clockwise M25.
National Highways (@HighwaysSEAST) confirmed on Twitter yesterday evening (February 20) shortly after 3.30pm that the bridge will be closed due to strong winds.
The bridge will likely remain closed for a few more hours, according to National Highways on Twitter.
National Highways South East will continue to monitor wind speeds on the crossing throughout the day.
The right-hand side of the tunnel is being used as a diversion as traffic builds up for the bridge.
