PALACE are one of five Premier League clubs that are interested in a summer swoop for Huddersfield star Lewis O’Brien.
The Terriers' vice-captain has proved to be one of the most promising central midfielders in the Championship and a standout player for the 5th placed side.
O'Brien has two goals and two assists this season in 30 league games this season, although he is predominantly a more defensive midfielder.
It has emerged that the Premier League club has gathered interest in the player after learning that he has a £12 million release clause in his contract.
The fee for O'Brien would potentially make him an absolute steal if he is able to transfer his form into England's top division.
Palace had been linked with a move for Liverpool veteran James Milner, but Lewis O'Brien does seem to be a target more in-keeping with Patrick Vieira's philosophy of signing younger players such as Marc Guehi, Michael Olise and Conor Gallagher.
If Palace are to sign the 23-year-old they will have to fend off interest from Leeds, West Ham, Wolves, Burnley and Norwich City according to TeamTalk.
Although with current standings taken into account Palace will be a far more attractive destination than Burnley and Norwich who are likely to be relegated this season.
