A motorcyclist has been rushed to a major trauma centre after crashing into a barrier on the A2.

Emergency services were called this morning (February 8) shortly after 7am to reports of a traffic crash at the Danson Road junction.

An ambulance crew, a medic in a car, and an incident response officer attended the scene.

The motorcyclist, who was a man, was treated at the scene and rushed as a priority to a major trauma centre.

Officers say he injured his leg, but it does not appear to be life threatening or changing.

No other vehicles were believed to be involved.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.11am today (February 8) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle on the A2 at the junction with Danson Road.

"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, and an incident response officer.

"A man was treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

A Met Police spokesperson added: “This at 07.08 today at Danson Road on the A2.

“Motorcyclist injured his leg after colliding with a barrier.

“No other vehicles believed involved.

“London Ambulance Service attended and they may have more injury details, but they do not appear life threatening or changing.”
