A member of the public has attempted to hand in a suspected bomb at Bexleyheath Police Station.
The incident occured just after 4pm today (Wednesday).
Specialist officers attended just after and established the item posed no risk to the public.
The suspected ordnance was removed for safe disposal.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 16:00hrs on Wednesday, 2 February, a member of the public attempted to hand in a suspected ordnance to the front counter of Bexleyheath Police Station.
"Specialist officers attended and established the item posed no risk to the public.
"It was removed for safe disposal."
