A road in Orpington will temporarily remain closed following works carried out by Thames Water.
The works started on Monday, January 24, at Kent Road.
Thames Water confirmed the works started following reports of the road subsiding.
The water supply company says no damage has been found after checking the condition of a pipe above the sewers.
They also confirmed their next step is to fill in the hole and replace the road surface.
The works are expected to be completed by the “end of this week.”
A spokesperson for Thames Water said: “Following reports the road was subsiding above one of our sewers, we’ve been checking the condition of the pipe.
“We’ve found no damage, so our next step is to fill in the hole and replace the road surface.
“We expect to have the road reopen, ahead of schedule, by the end of this week.”
