A police officer was seriously injured in a crash with a motorcycle going the wrong way on the M25 yesterday (January 23).
Patrols were responding to reports of a stolen motorcyle when a bike "collided with a male officer" at around 4.05pm on the clockwise carriageway near Junction 3 for Swanley, according to Kent Police.
An air ambulance landed at the scene, lifting the officer to a London hospital for treatment, as the motorway was closed in both directions.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of offences including dangerous driving.
The carriageways remained heavily congested into the evening after reopening before 6pm.
