The “distraught” owners of a dog from Plumstead have issued a heartfelt plea to the public for help in finding their missing pooch.
Mindie, an elderly Jack Russell Terrier, has been missing from Lakedale Road in SE18 since December 14.
The 15-year-old pup is microchipped – but owner Rae Gellell says she is deaf, fragile and had been showing early signs of dementia.
Mindie is small and mostly white with black and tan patches.
There have been no credible sightings of her so far – just “lots of very nasty prank calls” said owner Rae.
She is pleading for people to check their front and back gardens, sheds, garages or anywhere she might hide.
Rae also said Mindie likes to sleep in plant pots and asked people to check there too.
Rae told the News Shopper how distraught and worried she is about her, and expressed her desperation to get her home after a “betrayal” Christmas without her.
She said: “She’s quite fragile and practically deaf.
“She had been showing some early signs of dementia.
“I cannot express how distraught and worried we are about her.
“We are desperate to get her home and having Christmas without her felt like a betrayal.
“There hasn't been a single credible sighting of her so far - just lots of very nasty prank calls.”
Rae is offering a finder's fee for information leading to Mindie’s safe return.
