A planning application has been proposed by Greenwich council for 320 new homes.
The proposal will see the property built on the former Thomas Tallis school site in Kidbrooke.
The project on Kidbrooke Park Road will include one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom maisonettes.
The build will spread across five buildings between six and twelve storeys in height.
The council has also recently approved an additional 117 homes for the Greenwich Builds development project.
A spokesman for the council said: "Views will be considered and plans developed further before a Planning Exhibition is held later this year.
"With over 20,000 households now on our housing waiting lists there is an overwhelming need for us to create truly affordable council homes through our Greenwich Builds programme, to help those local people who are being priced out of our borough completely by London’s housing crisis.”

The development will be car-free project with parking for wheelchair users only, according to the Council.
Residents were also given a chance to view and comment on the new build between December 1 and December 5.
