The details for the famous Dartford Christmas lights switch on have been revealed – and it’s a technicolour dream.
Winner of BBC’s Any Dream Will Do and Joseph actor Lee Mead is preparing to illuminate the town centre on November 20.
Mead will join a host of entertainment to turn on Dartford’s Christmas lights after a day of festivities in Brewery Square, Market Street.
The singer and actor, who has also appeared in Holby City, is visiting the town ahead of his performances in Fat Friends the Musical at The Orchard Theatre next year.
He will be joined on stage to turn the lughts on at around 5.20pm by The Worshipful Mayor of Dartford Councillor Rosanna Currans, along with Father Christmas and the annual colouring competition winner.
The event will start at 1pm with a colourful array of street performers – with stilt walkers, unicyclists, magicians and a brass band dotted around the town centre.
Entertainment on stage in Brewery Square will begin at 2.30pm with Milkshake! presenter David Ribi and fellow presenter and one of the stars of this year’s Dartford panto, Kiera-Nicole.
