Performing arts school students from south east London are preparing to perform in an iconic West End venue.
Students from Ealing, Greenwich and Blackheath, Putney, Queens Park, Richmond and Sidcup will be taking to the stage to in Shaftesbury Theatre on Sunday, November 14 and Sunday, November 21.
Each school will perform a different show throughout the event - with Sidcup performing Hamilton and Queen's Park performing a tribute to the Wizard of Oz.
One of the dance teachers is from the West End.
After the 2020 show was postponed because of the pandemic, many of the students missed out on performing on the world famous stage - but now they will get their chance.
For many of the further stage students, this will be the last Stagecoach performance before they graduate to pursue a career in the performing arts and are going on to further education to study theatre and drama next year.
There are 32 schools in total performing in the showcase, with many travelling hundreds of miles across the UK to join the London students on the iconic West End stage.
Lisa Maddocks, Principal at Stagecoach Sidcup said: “Both our senior and junior performance troupes usually take part in two to three events a year, so we were due to take part in events when Covid hit.
“Our troupes live for performing onstage, especially on the West End stage so we are very much looking forward to being back where they love.
“We will be performing a medley from the hit musical ‘Hamilton’.
“It’s a show that our senior troupe are passionate about and have wanted to do for some time.
“One of our dance teachers was also in the original West End cast!”
Briony Tanner, Senior Marketing Executive at Stagecoach, said “It is so exciting to be able to hold this incredible event at the Shaftesbury Theatre again.
“We are so proud of the students, parents and teachers and all of the schools involved, many of whom are travelling many miles to London to take part, and all of whom have been rehearsing relentlessly to put on a fabulous show.
“It is such a pleasure to welcome everyone back through the doors to celebrate their hard work at the end of what has been a busy, and sometimes tough year.”
