A police officer has been injured by a firework during a night of anti-social behaviour in Woolwich.
The incident happened at around 8pm on Sunday, Halloween, in Woolwich New Road.
Officers had been called to a large group of teens who were reported to be throwing fireworks at buses and cars.
While the officer was assisting, a firework was thrown from the crowd which exploded near him.
The man in his early 20s received minor leg injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance crews.
No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police are investigating after an officer was injured by a firework.
"The incident happened at about 20:00hrs on Sunday, 31 October in Woolwich New Road, SE18.
"The officer was deployed on Autumn Nights patrol to deal with anti-social behaviour.
"Officers had been called to a large group of teenagers who were reported to be throwing fireworks at buses and cars.
"While the officer was assisting a firework was thrown from the crowd which exploded near the officer.
"The officer, a man in his early 20s received minor leg injuries, he was treated at the scene by LAS.
"There have been no arrests.
"Enquiries continue."
