A man has been fined more than £1,000 for harassing a woman via WhatsApp messages.
Simon Graham, 64, admitted to sending a constant stream of messages on his phone and via WhatsApp to a woman which amounted to harassment.
The defendant, of Woodland Way in Petts Wood, was consequently fined £1,057 during a hearing at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on July 15 this year.
This was for pursuing a course of conduct which he knew or ought to have known amounted to harassment.
Graham has been given a restraining order in that he is banned from contacting the victim directly and indirectly, and he is banned from an address in Chislehurst, Kent.
The order lasts until further order and has been made on conviction.
The charge included an £884 fine, £88 for victim services and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
It was ordered to be paid by August 12.
