Armed police have been stood down in Bromley after it turned out that reports of gunshots had been caused by a farmer dispatching an injured animal.
Bromley's Met Police team said officers were alerted to reports of gunshots in the Keston area last night (October 13).
Armed police were dispatched to the scene to investigate.
A number of residents expressed concern over a large police presence in the area, but officers eventually discovered that the gunshots had come from a local farmer.
In a statement, Bromley MPS said: "We are aware of reports of an incident involving armed police in the Keston area this evening.
"Officers responded to reports of gunshots heard.
"They later established it was a farmer who had dispatched of an injured animal.
"The incident has been stood down."
