A 51-year-old man has been found dead at a residential property in Orpington and a woman has been arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
The male victim and female suspect are thought to be known to each other, and the Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation following the death.
In a statement, the police force said officer were called to an address in Chelsfield Lane in Orpington at around 11:46pm on Saturday, October 9.
Police were joined by the London Ambulance Service at the scene, and the body of a 51-year-old man was discovered.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and at this point in time it is not known how he died.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course, and the man’s family have been informed.
A woman, aged in her 40s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. She has been taken into police custody.
The man and woman are believed to have been known to each other. Nobody else is sought at this time in connection with the incident.
